Every country has its special animals, the animals that no other country has like Africa's Giraffe, America's Bald Eagle or Australia's Kangaroo & Koala - and then there's those seagulls - the same the world over!

The Animals category features animals of every kind shot on our travels - from underwater shots at Australia's Great Barrier Reef to our friends pet kitten.

Our favorite shots are the ones that are impossible to plan - like the macro shot of the fly taken at 2cm distance from the subject on a normal pair of cotton weave pants or the black butterfly snapped on a perfect green leaf.

Gorilla's are also an interesting subject for photographers, with their human like behavior creating endless opportunities for a funny shot. Many of us can relate to the gorilla couple snap below - the male with stubborn arms folded, while the female chews on something!
